Two teenage cousins were arrested for robbing two small children on Feb. 15.

Deputies of St. John the Baptist reported an armed robbery at Greenwood Park in LaPlace. A father said three men threatened his 11- and 7-year-old children with a gun and stole their bikes.

That night, a deputy spotted one of the suspects, later identified as 19-year-old Johnte Tuco, sitting on one of the stolen bikes. Deputies approached him and he attempted to flee but was arrested.

One of the suspects pointed a gun and threatened the children, the father reported. Tuco’s 16-year-old cousin was also arrested and charged.

Both teenagers were arrested for armed robbery with a firearm. Tuco also faces one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and is in the parish jail under a $62,500 bond.
