Marrero woman arrested after shooting man in Laplace

The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested Tamyrihu Hubbard, 24, of Marrero, and charged her with second-degree murder in the shooting of Joshua Jones, 23, in LaPlace.
The sheriff’s office reported that deputies arrived at the 100 block of East Lakeview Drive residence at approximately 10:36 a.m. on February 16. Hubbard called 911, stating she shot her boyfriend, Jones in the chest.
Deputies found Jones unresponsive with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Hubbard told deputies she and Jones argued over the food made breakfast.
Hubbard was arrested at the scene and is currently held in the parish jail on a $1 million bond.
