The Give-A-Life Blood Drive is set to take place on Monday, Feb. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bloodmobile in the Parish President’s Building/Sheriff’s Office Parking Lot at 1811 W. Airline Hwy. in Laplace.

Organized by the St. John Parish Department of Community Services, this event offers a vital opportunity to donate blood to collect 15 units to assist those in need.

Donating blood saves lives by providing patients in emergencies with essential blood supplies. The St. John Parish Community Services stresses that donations are crucial during the holiday season when blood donations often drop while patient needs may increase.

Due to increased usage, the Blood Center’s website indicates an urgent need for Type O-positive blood and platelet donations to support patient care in the upcoming weeks.

As appreciation for their contribution, donors receive exclusive Heart Club membership, a festive T-shirt, Family Blood Coverage, or Blood Replacement.

To enhance convenience, appointments made in advance will be prioritized, while walk-ins are also welcome. Donors should bring their driver’s license or ID.
