A man from Laplace is facing multiple charges, after being arrested for theft and armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver.
The arrest of 18-year old, Montrell Isom, on Tuesday comes after he was identified by St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Office investigators using surveillance technology in two separate incidents involving the same delivery driver.
In the first incident, reported Friday, Nov. 29, a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was accosted in the 2700 block of Williamsburg Drive at 11:59 p.m. while attempting to make what he thought was a legitimate delivery to a home in the area. Isom approached the delivery driver once the driver exited the car and took the pizza from his hands without paying. The driver also gave Isom $20.
The second incident which occurred on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11:20 p.m. in the 2800 block of Williamsburg Drive. The delivery driver was again accosted by Isom who pointed a gun at the driver and demanded the pizza and cash. The driver gave him the pizza and $20.
In both cases, Isom’s appearance matched the description with the person of interest as he wore a dark clothing, which includes a black neck gaiter that partially covered his face.
During the course of the investigation it was discovered that Isom called in both orders using the same telephone number, which was registered to him. During a search of his residence the pizza box was found in his trash can.
Isom has been booked with theft and armed robbery and is being held in the parish jail. Bond has not been set.
