Keep Louisiana Beautiful s pleased to begin accepting applications online for the 2024-25 Trash Receptacle Grant. The purpose of the KLB Trash Receptacle Grant is to reduce litter in communities throughout Louisiana by providing high-quality trash receptacles for placement in outdoor public spaces.

“We must continue to prioritize making Louisiana a cleaner, greener place to live,” said Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser. “I’m grateful to our state Legislature for funding litter abatement, so that we can support local communities in their efforts to reduce litter in public spaces.”

“Data collected by KLB over the last several years shows a reduction of litter by 78% in areas where trash receptacles have been properly installed, serviced, and maintained,” said Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director. “One of KLB’s key initiatives is to help build infrastructure that supports clean, beautiful communities. Funding trash receptacles is a way KLB does that.”

Louisiana parishes, municipalities, recreation districts, and state agencies are eligible to apply. Eligible applicants may request to receive up to five high-quality trash receptacles to be installed in outdoor public spaces owned by the applying government entity.

The deadline to apply is Nov. 15. Grant recipients will be announced in January 2025.

This grant is made possible with funding from the State of Louisiana and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor. Questions about the KLB Trash Receptacle Grant can be directed to marketing@keeplouisianabeautiful.org. The online grant application may be found on the 2024-25 KLB Trash Receptacle Grant webpage.
