The St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation will celebrate the opening of its new West Bank Spray Park with a ribbon cutting and remarks from parish officials at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling.
The West Bank Spray Park is a 4,635-square-foot facility with more than 25 water features, 12 benches, and six sail shades for residents of all ages to enjoy the outdoors. In addition to the swamp-themed Spray Park, there are outdoor restrooms, an 85-space parking lot, and a concrete path that connects the new facility to the Veterans Memorial Plaza and Edward A. Dufresne Community Center.
This is the first Spray Park on the West Bank of St. Charles Parish and is similar to the Ormond Spray Park in Destrehan. The $2.2 million improvement was funded by the 29th Judicial District Court Community Benefit Fund, The LA Department of Treasury, and local funds.
