The St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation will unveil a new mural showcasing the recreational benefits that the Mississippi River provides residents of all ages in St. Charles Parish.

The unveiling is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, beneath the Hale Boggs Bridge, across from 13825 River Road in Luling.

Parish President Matthew Jewell, representatives from The Paul Maillard Business and Arts Initiative, Pacers Fitness, and local artist Kerry Allen will be in attendance.

The Mississippi River Multi-Use Path atop the levee is well-loved by residents of St. Charles Parish, and provides many opportunities for folks to walk, run, bike and get outdoors. The mural was painted in panels by local artist Kerry Allen then sealed and installed on the backside of the bathrooms at the Trailhead. The Paul Maillard Business and Arts Initiative coordinated and funded this project, along with a donation from Pacers Fitness and a grant received through The Red Dress Run Organization.
