Comets swim to runner-up finish at state

The St. Charles Catholic boys swim team went head first into the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Meet in Sulphur and came out as the Division III Runner-up.
The Comets amassed 278 points to finish behind Division champion E.D. White, which accumulated 465.5 points. The Lady Comets finished fifth overall with 198 points. E.D. White also won the women’s division.
Riverside Academy competed in Division IV with the girls finishing sixth overall with 115 points. The boys finished 12th with 53 points.
St. Charles Top 10 Finishers
St. Charles’ boys 200-meter relay team of Kyle Cannon, Joshua Jensen, Michael Romaguera and Daniel Joseph won their event with a time of 1:37.75.
The boys 400-meter relay team of Carson Weber, Joshua Jensen, Owen Faucheux and Carter Ory took second place with a time of 3:35.90.
The team of Carter Ory, Garrett Ide, Carson Weber and Daniel Joseph finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:46.73.
Ory Carter took fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:18.16 and fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:07.30. Joshua Jensen was fifth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.49 and seventh in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:08.44. Ryan Beber was eighth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.19. Carson Weber was sixth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.06. Daniel Joseph was sixth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.30. Garrett Ide was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.95.
The girls 400 meter freestyle relay team of Kinley Manson, Adrienne Arnett, Bryleigh Sutherland and Julia Laiche finished fourth with a time of 4:22.49. Hartley Faucheux, Lauren Laiche, Katherine Chapman and Baileigh Tregre finished fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:02.68.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Baileigh Tregre, Katherine Chapman, Kinley Manson and Hartley Faucheux finished fourth with a time of 1:48.99.
Chapman finished seventh in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.80 and seventh in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:36.24. Tregre was sixth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.94 and eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:20.90. Hartley Faucheux was fifth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.29 and Lauren Laiche was eighth with a time of 1:10.67. Faucheux was seventh in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.42.

The girls 200-yard medley relay team of Corrin Cashio, Cami LaRose, Emma Babin and Sofia Galvez finished sixth with a time of 2:21.62. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hannah St. Martin, Cami LaRose, Brinley Roccaforte and Sofia Galvez was fourth with a time of 2:02.50. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of St. Martin, Chloe St. Pierre, Taylor Duhe and Courtney Bordelon finished 10th with a time of 4:50.97.
Taylor Duhe was seventh in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:17.89 and Corrin Cashio was 10th with a time of 1:21.17. Hannah St. Martin was ninth in the girls 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.68.
The boys 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brennan Maus, Craig Matt, Beaux Brock and Brody Vicknair finished 10th with a time of 1:57.81. The 100-yard freestyle relay team of Vicknair, Matt, Andrew Babin and Maus finished seventh with a time of 4:40.84.
Brock was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:16.09.
