Reserve — Riverside Academy will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 9 due to an undisclosed potential threat.

According to Principal Holly Haase, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the school to conduct an investigation into the potential threat.

In a message sent out to parents, Haase said, “While we do not have any evidence that substantiates the threat, our staff and your children’s safety is our top priority. Parents, please have conversations with your children about implications that threatening statements made towards school can have.”

Haase also stated in the message that Riverside Academy will continue to keep parents and students informed regarding school on Friday.
