As we approach Thanksgiving, I’m grateful that my Heavenly Father has always supplied all of my needs. The Bible says that if you have faith, He will. He promises to deliver
and always does. Believe me, my faith gets tested often and, at times, I fail the test.
Faith is something we have a lot of when things are going good, but when needed, we sometimes forget who is in charge of our lives.
I’ll never forget that two weeks before Thanksgiving, over 38 years ago, I didn’t know what to do because I was financially busted and had no one to turn to.
A couple of days after that, I woke up at 2 o’clock one morning and told God that I was tired and about to give up. I said, “If I’m not doing Your will, I’m ready to go home.”
Two days later, a lady from Missouri called me at 7:30 in the morning and asked, “Are you Harold Keller with Get High on Life?”
“Yes, ma’am,” I answered.
“Do you remember me?” I didn’t until she reminded me that it was four years since I met with her and her husband at Shoney’s in LaPlace. She continued, “I still have the Get High on Life card you gave me and decided to call, because this morning as I was praying, God told me you needed some money.”
“No,” I said with pride. “I’m OK.” (Keep in mind that it was just two days prior that I asked God for help.)
“I’m glad you’re doing well,” she said, “but I have to listen to my God.”
She sent me a check for $3,000. I needed $2,700 just to survive for awhile. Two years later, she sent me a check for $10,000.
As I was reminded of God’s faithfulness over the years, I had to repent and ask God to forgive me for being worried about my finances.
