Edgard man shot in Hahnville, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives seeking assistance

Hahnville — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance for information on a shooting that occurred Saturday, November 4, 2023, around 10:10 p.m. in the 300 block of Smith Street in Hahnville, LA.
Deputies were dispatched to the area around 10:10 P.M. based on the report of someone shot.
A good Samaritan immediately began lifesaving measures, and she ultimately transported the victim to an area hospital prior to the deputies’ arrival.
When deputies arrived at the location, they located multiple shell casings lying in the street in the 300 block of Smith Street. While securing the area, deputies located a vehicle and residence damaged by gunfire.
Through investigation, detectives have learned the victim was speaking to his girlfriend outside when he heard gunfire and was shot. The gunfire was believed to come from someone in an unknown vehicle that fled towards Highway 3160 in Hahnville.
The victim is a twenty-one-year-old male from the Edgard, LA area. He sustained four non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
This is an ongoing active investigation. Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area as investigators search for evidence.
