According to Louisiana State Police, a New Orleans man working for the St. John the Baptist Parish Clerk of Court has been arrested over allegations that include threatening a public official and payroll fraud.
In May of 2023, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations received a complaint from the Louisiana Legislative Auditor against 54-year-old Clerk of Court employee Troy Williams for threatening a public official and injuring public records.
As a result of additional information obtained during the investigation, LSP BOI detectives discovered evidence of payroll fraud and other unlawful acts that Williams also committed.
Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Williams on the charges of public payroll fraud, unlawful acts, threatening a public official, and injuring public records, and Williams was booked on Oct. 17 into the Lt. Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in St. John.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. According to LSP, there is no further information available at this time.
