Lora Luquet, a recent graduate of Northwestern State University of Louisiana’s communications program, is now the News Editor of L’Observateur.

Luquet worked with the previous News Editor Brooke Robichaux at L’Observateur during a brief internship in the summer of 2022.

During her time at NSU, Luquet worked on staff for The Current Sauce, the university’s student-led newspaper, and was elected editor-in-chief of the paper during her senior year. 

Luquet graduated from NSU in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in English.

Before transferring to L’Observateur, Luquet worked for Boone Newsmedia as a staff reporter for The Bogalusa Daily News, The Picayune Item and The Poplarville Democrat.

Besides work with The Current Sauce and Boone Newsmedia, Luquet also briefly held an internship at OffBeat Magazine, a New Orleans-based music publication.
