A LaPlace man was arrested Monday morning, September 11, after deputies with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered more than 77 kilos of cocaine in a LaPlace home.
The male, 54, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
Officers began an investigation at the LaPlace homen Saturday, September 9, 2023. During the course of the investigation, packages of cocaine were discovered. About 77 kilos of cocaine with a street value of about $2 million were confiscated.
Officers are continuing to investigate this case.
