November 2, 1972 — Winners in the Andouille gumbo cooking contest held in connection with the first LaPlace Andouille Festival last weekend receive trophies from Miss Ann Elizabeth Guillot (right), St. John Parish Sugar Queen. The winners (from left) are Mrs. Victoria A. Bailey, sponsored by Big-er Burger, third place; Dale Madere, Kiwanis Club, second place; and Robert Milliet, Riverlands Civic Association, first place.
