Reserve man arrested for Taco Bell burglary

RESERVE — Richard Brewster, 64, of Reserve was arrested September 6, 2023 in connection to a burglary of Taco Bell in LaPlace.
On Sunday, September 03, 2023, about 6 a.m., officers responded to Taco Bell on West Airline Highway in LaPlace in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies noticed the drive-through window had been shattered. Nothing had been removed from the business.
Through investigation and review of surveillance video, detectives developed Brewster as a suspect. Upon Brewster’s arrest on September 6, 2023, he falsely identified himself. He was charged with resisting an officer (misd); and simple burglary – immovable structure.
Brewster is being held in custody in lieu of a $6,669.50 bond set by Judge V. Fiffie.
