LAPLACE — Two years ago, New Wine Christian Fellowship was activated as a hub for hurricane recovery efforts, serving as a beacon of hope to a storm-shaken community. This week, to commemorate the second anniversary of Hurricane Ida, more than 90 volunteers united at the church to distribute food, water and hurricane preparedness supplies to over 500 residents within the community.
Among the volunteers were Pastor Neil Bernard, Parish President Jaclyn Hotard and staff, District Attorney Bridget Dinvaut, and community officials.
