ST. CHARLES PARISH – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that beginning Friday, September 1, 2023, construction will start on a $1.76 million paving project of a 2.9-mile section of River Road (LA 48) between Ormond Blvd., in Destrehan, and Wesco Rd., in Norco.
The project includes removing and repaving the asphalt driving surface, striping, and related works.
Single-lane closures are required to perform the work and will mainly occur on weekdays between 7:30 a.m-5:30 p.m. During these hours, one lane will remain open and traffic will be maintained in both directions. Workers will use a flagging operation to keep traffic moving.
The estimated completion date is late 2023.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive cautiously through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
