Arrest made in St. John Parish double-shooting

RESERVE — Detectives with the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation are investigating a double shooting that took place in the parking lot of a Reserve Business.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at approximately 6:20 pm the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of US 61 and Central Ave in Reserve in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival to the area, deputies located a subject that had been shot multiple times in a parking lot of a nearby business.
While on scene, deputies were further informed that a second subject arrived at Ochsner Laplace Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound as well. It was later determined that this subject was also involved in the Reserve shooting. Both victims were transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans, and both are considered to be in critical but stable condition at this time.
Roquan King of Reserve was identified as one of the shooters and was charged with one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. Video surveillance shows that only King and the two gunshot wound victims were the primary individuals involved in this incident.
