LAPLACE — My name is Bernard “Benny” Tassin, III and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Councilman at Large, representing Division B. I’m deeply grateful to God for this opportunity to serve. As a lifelong resident of St. John and a proud parent of four wonderful children, I’m committed to making a difference in the community we all love!
I have a strong background in public service, having previously worked as a deputy sheriff for the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office and in the public works department with the City of Kenner. Serving the community is my true calling.
My goal as Councilman at Large is to enhance the lives of our residents, especially our children. I would like to implement more recreational activities and entertainment options right here in our parish. Our kids should have opportunities for fun and growth without having to look elsewhere.
Additionally, I aim to foster unity within the council. A united council can achieve great things for our parish. I won’t be a councilman who only appears during election time. I genuinely love serving people, and that’s the commitment I bring to this role. I’m running for the people of St. John, because we deserve effective and accountable government.
I humbly ask for your vote on Saturday, October 14, 2023. If you’re tired of the status quo, let’s vote for change together. “I am the Change we need in times like these.” Thank you!
