EDGARD — “Prevention on the Go” breast and colorectal cancer screenings will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, August 28 at Juan Joseph Memorial Park, located at 3445 Highway 18 in Edgard.

Colorectal screenings consist of a take-home kit, which requires a stool sample to be submitted via mail.

This event is hosted by the St. John the Baptist Parish Department of Community Services and the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment, call 985-239-5739.

Screenings are free for those who have not been screened in the past 12 months. Insurance will be billed for mammograms. For those without insurance, there will be no charge.
