Residents should utilize libraries for cooling ahead of extreme heat
Hahnville, LA – Due to an air conditioning outage, the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center is closed until further notice. Parks and Recreation and RSVP staff can be reached by calling 985-783-5050.
Line Dancing scheduled for this evening at 5:30 pm is canceled.
Residents needing a Cooling Shelter should utilize one of the six St. Charles Parish Public Libraries. For a list of locations and operating hours, please visit https://myscpl.org/visit.
Heat indexes are expected to reach between 115° and 120° Fahrenheit today, and excessive heat conditions are likely to continue through Saturday. Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, and check on relatives and neighbors.
