Elphege “E.J.” Aucoin passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the age of 97. He was a life-long resident of Reserve, LA.
Beloved husband of Jewell Hotard Aucoin for 75 years. Loving father of Randy (Trisha) Aucoin, Debra (Norman) Jacob, Kevin Aucoin and Anne Aucoin. Grandfather of Ashley, Gary and Danny Aucoin, Jenny Anderson and Missy Becnel and Jeremy Jacob and Amie Brady. Great grandfather of 21. Son of the late E. P. and Agnes Blanchard Aucoin. Brother of the late Mary Anne Jacob, Maurice Aucoin, and Farrel Aucoin. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
E.J. proudly served in the Army Air Corps and was a retiree of the Bell South Telephone Company. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW and the American Legion. He received the St. Louis Medal.
The family would like to send a special thanks to St. Catherine’s Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Hwy 44, Reserve on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve, LA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Hwy 44, Reserve, LA 70084 or masses preferred.
