LAPLACE — St. Charles Catholic Cheerleaders recently attended UCA Camp this week at Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge. They worked hard all week learning new band chants, cheers and material for Friday Night Lights. These athletes had their first team performance to compete with their new routines. The Comets received second place in Sideline, second place in Camp Routine, first place in Cheer and first Overall Game Day Champions! This makes the Comet Cheerleaders Back to Back Game Day Champions! These girls also received the Traditions Plaque. This is awarded to the team who has “inspiring leadership on and off the field”.

Individual awards include All American – Krissten Ellsworth, Layla Jackson and Syreniti Marbley. Katherine Chapman, Krissten Ellsworth and Layla Jackson also received the Pin It Forward Award from staff and other members. This award is for the person who embodies all the qualities of a cheerleader.
