Two Juveniles arrested for Criminal Damage to Property

On May 30, 2023, St. John Sheriff’s Office received a report of a fully marked St. John Sheriff’s Office police unit that had a shattered rear windshield. The same day, a vehicle was reported to be spray painted and had a broken window in the same general area. Additionally, Greenwood Park was reported to have damages due to spray paint as well.
Through further investigation, two juveniles were located on surveillance video throwing a rock at the sheriff’s office unit, breaking the rear windshield. The juveniles were also observed on camera throwing a rock and spray painting the other mentioned vehicle. The same juveniles were also located on camera vandalizing the Greenwood Park with spray paint.
The juveniles, ages 13 and 14, were positively identified and subsequently both confessed their actions to detectives. Both juveniles were booked into Sherman Walker Correctional Center on three counts of 14:56—Simple Criminal Damage to Property and released to their parents later the same day.
