St. James Sheriff’s Office seeks information in Vacherie murder

On May 25, 2023, right after midnight, the St. James Sheriff’s Office received calls in reference to shots being fired in the area of Perkins Street, in Vacherie. When deputies arrived on scene, one individual was located, shot multiple times. The individual was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. He is identified as Marquese Blain, 25 years old, from Vacherie.
The Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information from the public that could assist with solving this murder. Anyone with information please contact St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-562-2200.
