Officers Investigate LaPlace Shooting

Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday, May 17, 2023, about 11:45 p.m., in the 300 block of St. James Place in LaPlace where a 35-year-old male was injured.
Upon arrival, officers located the male inside a residence with a gunshot wound to his hand. The victim reported he was taking out the trash when someone shot at him from a nearby yard. Emergency medical services transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated and released. Officers also located a vehicle with several bullet holes.
