LAPLACE — Father and daughter team Terry Millet and Terri Lennix recently opened T&T Cabinets, Countertops and Flooring to meet the need for local, trustworthy businesses in a high-demand home renovation market.

The new store is located at 1929 W. Airline Highway Ste. 2009 in LaPlace, adjacent to New Wine Christian Fellowship.

Millet has ample experience in buying and flipping houses, while his daughter previously worked in a cabinet store. Seeing unmet needs after Hurricane Ida inspired them to serve the community they call home.

“Timing was everything,” Millet said. “I had just retired in December from the refinery in Norco. We sat down one night and discussed it.”

Lennix said being locally owned and operated makes a difference when helping those in need.

“After the storm, there were a lot of people that weren’t able to be helped expeditiously. We realized there was much more of a demand and there was more work than there were workers,” Lennix said. “We were born and raised in this town, so it matters a lot for us to have our own storefront and to be able to help our own people. A lot of the times after a storm, out-of-towners and people from different states come in. We can be a face you know, someone you can trust.”

T&T Cabinets, Countertops and Flooring offers a wide range of materials for kitchen and bathroom renovations. Quartz, granite and marble countertops are currently on trend as homeowners look to create clean, contemporary spaces.

The store also offers a variety of flooring including laminate, vinyl, tile and carpeting through sister company MillPros.

Installation is included as a service. According to the T&T owners, the turnaround time from a deposit to completion of a project is approximately four days, with most installations taking one or two days.

Millet’s mother, Geraldine Millet, was the first customer to visit the family-owned business when it opened in late November 2022. Millet and Lennix sim to treat all customers like family when it comes to making the home of their dreams a reality.

T&T offers competitive pricing with flexibility to meet a customer’s budget. Lennix said the company offers free measurements, free estimates, and free advice/designs. It is her goal to ensure the customer is educated on their options and feels comfortable prior to making a purchase.

“I’m always willing to listen to any concerns and point people in the right direction,” she said.
