Last week, the St. James Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division received a generous donation from the Deputy Jeremy Triche Fallen Hero Foundation.
The foundation was started after Deputy Jeremy Triche, a K-9 officer with St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, was killed in the line of duty in 2012. The mission of the foundation is to support first responders in times of need, sheriff’s offices with K-9s, and survivors as the needs arise.
The foundation holds its annual Spots and Dots fishing tournament the 2nd Saturday in June. For more information on the foundation visit jeremytrichehero.org.
The St. James Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Deputy Jeremy Triche Fallen Hero Foundation for the donation, which will be utilized to provide training aids, additional kennels, and training for our K-9s.
Sheriff Willy Martin, Colonel Sid Berthelot, Lieutenant Michael Dufrene, K-9 Rex, Deputy Anthony Cox, K-9 Fibi, Deputy Ty Hebert, and K-9 Sox were present for the acceptance of the donation.
