Homebuilder’s Association May meeting is open to the public

NEW ORLEANS — The May Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBAGNO) General Membership Meeting will be held Thursday, May 4 at 4:30 p.m. at Gulf Coast Bank and Trust on Harrison Avenue in Lakeview (848 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans). The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
The monthly HBAGNO General Membership Meeting provides pertinent and timely information relative to businesses across the metro area. Members’ and citizens’ needs are heard, so that HBAGNO may better provide resources to advance the building industry and better communities.
This month’s meeting will address the following:
- NFIP (Nat’l Flood Insurance Program and FEMA’s Risk Rating 2.0 – New developments
- Panel Discussion: New Orleans permitting and inspection process
This month’s speakers are Peter Waggoner, Director of the Coalition for Sustainable Flood Insurance; Tammie Jackson, Director, City of New Orleans Department of Safety and Permits; and Jay Dufour, Chief Building Official, City of New Orleans (Plus, additional guests from Mechanical and Electrical inspections.)
A Q&A session will follow.
Founded in 1941, the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBAGNO) provides members with continuing education, events for networking opportunities and advocacy to protect the home building industry. The HBA is a non-profit professional organization serving nearly 1,000 builders and associate members encompassing seven parishes throughout Louisiana, including Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. John the Baptist, St. James, St. Charles, Plaquemines, and Orleans. The Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans is currently celebrating over 80 years as the voice of the residential housing industry across the metro area.
