A 14-year-old male juvenile from LaPlace was arrested Wednesday, April 19 after taking money from another juvenile at a local business and then pointing a gun at the juvenile and his parents.
On Friday, April 14, about 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a business in the 1400 of West Airline Highway in LaPlace in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the 13-year-old male victim and his parents who reported another male juvenile, later identified as the 14-year-old male, grabbed money from the victim’s hand inside the store then exited the store.
Subsequently, the victim pointed out the suspect, who was still in the vicinity of the business, to his parents. The parents approached the male subject and demanded he give the money back. The juvenile refused to return the money and fled the scene on a bike. As the suspect fled the scene, he pointed a gun at the victim and his parents.
