We make decisions daily, whether we recognize them or not. Our life is comprised of them. Everyday God graces us with life and we decide what the day will consist of. The possibilities are endless and may include working, shopping, going to school or spending quality time with him and family.
The ironic aspect of decisions is that we can make them for ourselves or allow others to make them for us. As children growing up, others are in control. They are the people that God gave charge over us and to steer us in our upbringing until we are able to decide on our own.
At some point we mature and should be able to make decisions on our own. God has given us the power of our will.
We can make decisions that will bring harm or life. With this ability to make decisions for ourselves, he also gives us wisdom. In Deuteronomy 30;19 we are given life and death, blessings and curses, but we are asked to choose life. By choosing life we make decision that are in accordance with his Holy Word. Every decision we make should reflect wisdom from God.
One of the benefits of being a friend of God is that even when our decisions don’t reflect his wisdom, he still makes them work for our good. So, who would not serve a God like that? Our life is precious and our decisions are critical. If we want life, we must choose wisely and make decisions according to the giver of life, God. God Bless!
