Garyville man arrested for fatal shooting in Reserve

Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man and woman injured and resulted in the death of another man Friday, April 14, 2023 at a convenience store in the 3900 block of West Airline Highway in Reserve.
About midnight, deputies responded to the store in reference to a shooting with multiple victims. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of Henry Jamal Malancon Jr. 26, of Mt. Airy, with gunshots to his body on the ground in the parking lot. Subsequently, officers found two other victims in a parking lot behind the store. Emergency medical services arrived on scene to administer aid. The 24-year-old male of Reserve and the 25-year-old female of St. Rose were transported to a local hospital. The woman was grazed by a bullet in the head. She was treated and released. The male was shot in the leg and remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
Shortly after, Trajuan Dixon, 26, of Garyville turned himself in to officers and confessed to the shooting. Dixon was charged with manslaughter and two counts of aggravated second degree battery. A motive is unknown at this time.
