Boutte – On April 12, around 3 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA 3127 near I-310 in Boutte. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 32-year-old Donnie Daigle of Napoleanville.
The initial investigation revealed that Daigle was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado south on LA 3127 at the I-310 north exit. For reasons still under investigation, Daigle’s vehicle traveled off the roadway and impacted a guardrail before overturning.
Daigle, who was not restrained at the time of the crash, was ejected from his vehicle. Daigle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Impairment on the part of Daigle is unknown and routine toxicology results are pending.
