LAPLACE— “Let’s Work! River Parishes” is the call to all residents of St. Charles, St. James and St. John Parishes as River Parishes Workforce Development officially reopened two service locations closed following Hurricane Ida in 2021. The announcement also rolled out services offered by Let’s Work! River Parishes to youth, industry and employers and unemployed/underemployed residents seeking to enter or move within the workforce available in-person at three locations and online at letsworkriverparishes.com.

 

“Our region and residents are emerging from the devastation of Hurricane Ida stronger than before,” said River Parishes Workforce Development Director Tommy Scott. “Employment and economic development services offered by Let’s Work! River Parishes is critical to recovery for our neighbors and continued growth for our community.”

 

Let’s Work! River Parishes now operates three locations in Vacherie, Luling and LaPlace, offering services from tutoring, career counseling, training and work experience for youth ages 16-24; skills training, certification and job search assistance for adults; and recruitment, on-the-job training and employer tax credits for commercial and industrial operations in its three-parish area.

 

In addition to renewing in-person consultation, Let’s Work! River Parishes is also expanding services online and by phone to help accommodate clients. Applications and additional information can be found at letsworkriverparishes.com.

River Parishes staff have over 100 combined years of experience focusing on training, education, counseling, and helping residents find employment and career training for the River Parishes.  A dedicated civic-minded board of regional and local business representatives, education professionals, and economic development experts direct efforts to meet the needs of business and industry and provide opportunities for individuals to meet their full career potential today for a better tomorrow.

In addition to adult training opportunities, Let’s Work! River Parishes is currently accepting applications for its 9-week Youth Summer Work Experience Program starting June 5^th for residents aged 16-24.
