Elizabeth Wightman Bourgeois wife of Hayward Bourgeois passed away suddenly of a heart attack on Monday February 20, 2023; she was 84 years old. Elizabeth was born and raised in New Orleans, graduated from Redemptorist High School.

Resided in LaPlace raising four children: Kellie Manthe (Don); Suzzanne Richard (Neil), Kyle Bourgeois and Joelle Bourgeois-Moreau(Gregg). She was Gram to four grandchildren: Payton and Owen Bourgeois, Jace and Joey Richard. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her two sisters, Catherine Brent and Audry Duffau. Elizabeth was the caregiver for her eldest sibling Erna Buckle.

Elizabeth retired from St John Parish School Board after many years as a paraprofessional in the Special Education program. Elizabeth was the consummate caregiver, always tending to others needs before her own.

She loved her family, cooking, music, reading and being outdoors with her beloved dog, Sam. Her love and laughter will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Services are being held privately with family.
