LUTCHER — Following a successful run in St. Charles Parish, JaVon Ophelia’s ACT Mentorship & Learning for the Performing Arts Program has arrived in St. James Parish.

Sessions are held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. February 7 through May 25 at the Lutcher Library. Please take advantage of this FREE resource. The following components are offered:

• Acting- Discover the basic principles of acting and set yourself up with skills to succeed in the entertainment industry, from working commercials to learning to control tone and perform in a scene.
• Dancing – Get ready to move and groove through six areas of dance that will help students refine skills, learn, grow and have fun.
• Mentorship – Receive mentorship from writer, director and producer JaVon Ophelia Butler, MPA.
• Specialty Areas – Piano lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons
