On January 16, 2023, at 11:47 pm KPD patrol stopped a vehicle in the 3100 block of Loyola Drive. During the stop and interview of the driver, Terrance Cotaya, 23, Kenner; a Glock 40 caliber handgun was found in his waistband. During the investigation, the passenger, Dominique Robinson, 31, Lutcher; fled from the vehicle and the officer, Robinson was apprehended after a struggle with the officer. Upon returning to the vehicle, a search discovered another Glock 9mm handgun where Robinson was seated, two black ski masks, gloves, and drug paraphernalia. Both Cotaya and Robinson are convicted felons, prohibited by law from possessing firearms.
