Christmas tree pick-up continues in January

LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish announced that the Public Works Department will collect real Christmas trees from January 9 through February 2.
Residents who have a real Christmas tree that needs to be collected are asked to please place the tree curbside and call Public Works at 985-652-4815 to request pick-up. Please remove lights, decorations, hooks and other items prior to placing curbside.
St. Charles Parish will recycle Christmas Trees for coastal restoration through January 26, 2023.
St. Charles Parish residents have two opportunities to recycle their trees. Through January 26, residents can drop off their trees at the East and West Bank Bridge Parks. Curbside pickup will be available for residents from January 9 through January 26.
The following are the recycling requirements:
- No flocked trees
- No artificial trees
- No painted trees
- No ornaments
- No lights
- No stands
- No bags
