Avoyelles Parish – On November 7, 2022, following a domestic violence investigation initiated by the Marksville Police Department (MPD), 31-year-old Nick Ducote and his spouse were charged with domestic violence. Criminal summonses were issued to both individuals by MPD. On November 9, 2022, a restraining order was obtained and served to Ducote, by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office. As a result, he was placed on administrative leave.
On December 3, 2022, Ducote allegedly violated the protective order, thus a warrant was issued for his arrest by the 12th Judicial District Court. He was arrested and booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail without incident.
Ducote, employed with LSP since 2014, was off duty at the time of both incidents. He is currently assigned to Patrol at Troop E in Alexandria and remains on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the criminal and administrative investigations
