Tornado that struck St. Charles Parish classified as EF-1

PARADIS — The U.S. National Weather Service New Orleans reported that an EF-1 tornado with 100 mph peak winds impacted Paradis between 2:18 and 2:20 p.m. Saturday, November 26.
No injuries or deaths were reported.
The tornado measured 200 yards wide and was on the ground for approximately 0.7 miles. Roof and siding damage occurred to several buildings, and many trees were damaged.
The majority of damage reports are between Cadow Rd and Bayou Gauche Road. The Paradis Volunteer Fire Department has confirmed reports of downed trees and power lines throughout the area and minor structural damage. Residents should not touch downed powerlines as they could be active.
The St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center and Department of Homeland Security is working with local agencies to assess damages from a reported tornado in the Paradis area. Residents in need of assistance should call the EOC at 985-783-5050.
