NORCO —  H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial® provider, has announced the purchase of a new building and property located at 22 Apple St. in Norco, Louisiana. The funeral home’s new building will replace its former Fourth Street location, which sustained damage after Hurricane Ida in 2021 and was beyond repair following a fire in January of 2022.

Serving the River Parishes since 1912, H.C. Alexander remains steadfast in its commitment to provide guidance and support to local families during times of need and is determined to build back better and stronger in what will be a larger and more modern space for families to gather. The new building, formerly home to a Capital One Bank that closed in 2012, will undergo a major renovation that is expected to take up to a year.

“We remain dedicated to the multi-generations of families in this community who have supported H.C. Alexander for the last century and will provide continued care and compassion for generations to come,” said Elizabeth Ford, manager of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home. “By refurbishing a building that has sat vacant for 10 years, we are proud to play a part in Norco’s revitalization.”

The new facility offers several upgrades over H.C. Alexander’s former location, including more parking for families and guests, a spacious parlor and chapel, and a kitchen that will accommodate catering for receptions. The building will also serve as a multi-purpose space for non-funeral related community events. Local families can expect to see the same familiar faces operating the funeral home including Manager Elizabeth Ford and Funeral Director Brooke Salter.

Since January, H.C. Alexander has remained operational, offering continuous service to families, while honoring all existing pre-arrangements. Until renovations on the new building are completed, families are encouraged to call Leitz-Eagan Funeral Homes at 985-764-6249 or visit www.hcalexander.com for information regarding planned services or if they are in need of services.
