LAPLACE — The St. Joan of Arc Catholic School campus was buzzing with excitement last week when all incoming students and their families were invited to campus on August 10 for Ready, Set, Go Night.
The night serves as the first school event of each academic year. Students were able to bring in their school supplies, meet their teachers, and get familiar with their new classrooms. The school community was also able to check out the renovations and improvements that happened to the school over the summer.
The SJA gym was packed with tables that detailed all the activities, clubs, and extra-curricular activities that the school offers. There was a game set up that asked students to match pictures of the schools’ current teachers and staff members with baby pictures of them. Adults enjoyed a game of meet and greet bingo, while the Home and School Association served pizza with help from the Grandparents’ Club and the Mens’ Club handed out beverages.
SJA’s theme this year is “Rejoice in the Lord always,” and Ready, Set, Go Night set the perfect stage for year-long fellowship, fun and community.
