LAPLACE — Trevor Sanders, a 41-year-old resident of LaPlace, was fatally wounded during a shooting that occurred Wednesday morning in the Belle Pointe subdivision.

Sheriff Mike Tregre said the homicide occurred on Natchez Lane, one street away from the victim’s residence.

No arrests have been made at this time. Tregre could not confirm the number of gunshots that were fired or the suspected number of shooters.

The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this incident. More information will be released as it becomes available.
