NEW ORLEANS — Parade of Homes, presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBAGNO), is the official showcase of the latest in home design in the Greater New Orleans area. It serves as the region’s best opportunity to tour new homes and see the latest innovations in building construction and industry trends, such as adaptable and multi-purpose layouts, cozy vacation living, combined open air living spaces, lighting and plumbing finishes, and all the newest trends for 2022. Attendees can also receive expert advice from the area’s trusted builders, designers, lenders and real estate professionals.
This year’s Parade features a total of 14 homes by 13 area builders. These amazing homes can be seen in-person by visiting them each Saturday and Sunday of the Parade from 1 to 5 p.m. on July 16-17 and July 23-24. Select Parade homes can also be seen virtually starting July 25, using Matterport’s innovative 3D virtual tour technology on the “New Orleans Parade of Homes” mobile app, and on the Parade of Homes website. Attendees are encouraged to download the free mobile app from the App Store or Google Play. It features a full list of this year’s Parade homes with locations, directions to each home, a range of prices, builder contacts, sponsors and vendors. The app also lets visitors do a 360° tour of individual rooms in a home.
While spring and summer continue to be the most popular times for families to consider their housing needs, the Parade of Homes is ideal for inspirational concepts for those planning to build, renovate or move to a new neighborhood, as housing needs continue to evolve as the pandemic lingers. And, even with hope in sight that the pandemic is waning, many people are ready to search for a new home that offers style and much needed space, as well as comfort, safety and a sense of community. This year’s Parade homes will be featured in neighborhoods across the greater metro area, including The Parks of Plaquemines and Planters Estates in Belle Chasse, Live Oak Estates in Waggaman, Gilmore Place in Metairie, Old Metairie, Lakeview, Metairie Club Gardens, and Oakland Plantation Estates in Kenner.
“This year’s Parade offers a variety of homes in neighborhoods that reflect the diverse tastes and budgets of potential homebuyers in our community,” said Mary Kelly of Ferguson Enterprises and chair of the 2022 Parade of Homes. “As we continue to work within the confines of the current housing economy, our builders continue to create beautiful homes with flex space for home offices, playrooms and outdoor living for entertaining. We are excited and proud to once again showcase the work of our area’s most innovative builders, subcontractors and vendors who provide inspiration while building strong relationships in the communities in which they serve.”
Additionally, the HBAGNO is a proud supporter of the St. Jude Dream Home®. While the home will be closed to the public by the start of the 2022 Parade of Homes on July 16, proceeds from the now sold- out annual raffle will support St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The New Orleans St. Jude Dream Home is a 2,700 sq. ft., four bedroom, 3.5-bathroom house located at 735 Oaklawn Drive in Metairie. Built by Hyman L. Bartolo Jr. Contractors, LLC, the home is valued at approximately $750,000.
To ensure visitor safety during in-home visits, builders will be following all current CDC and governmental guidelines and will frequently sanitize all high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
A full list of homes and their locations can be found at www.hbagno/poh or at “New Orleans Parade of Homes” on the free mobile app. For more information, attendees can also pick up a copy of the print program at featured Parade homes and select business locations around town.
