LAPLACE — St. Charles Catholic student Amaya Dew won Facebook favorite for her piece titled “Just Me” in the Louisiana 6^th Congressional District Art Competition.

U.S. Congressman Garret Graves announced the winners of the art competition this week. Judging is conducted by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, and folks on Facebook were invited to weigh in by casting votes.

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and more specifically in each congressional district.
