HAHNVILLE – For the 10th consecutive year, the St. Charles Parish Finance Department was awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2022 budget by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
“The St. Charles Parish Finance Department is incredibly honored and humbled by this, our 10th consecutive Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the GFOA,” Chief Financial Officer Grant Dussom said. “This is truly a testament to all the hard work and dedication that the Finance Department puts forth day in and day out, and I could not be prouder of this department for receiving this incredible recognition once more.”
This award is a significant achievement for St. Charles Parish and the Finance Department as it shows the commitment to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The Finance Department had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation to receive the award.
The guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. The budget documents must be given a proficient rating in all four categories and the 14 mandatory criteria to receive the award.
