LULING — Sheriff Greg Champagne reports that on Sunday, April 24, 2022, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Dive Team was requested to assist the New Orleans Police Department in the search for three missing children lost near the Mississippi River beneath the Crescent City Connection Bridge.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) Team responded as support. They were able to search a portion of the area along with other responders, and further provided additional observation for NOPD Divers.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office also provided a dive truck with underwater communications equipment, and RAPID Diver, specialized Scuba equipment.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Dive Team aided search efforts until Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
