RESERVE – Capital Area United Way, BASF and the leadership group Women in BASF, in conjunction with Women’s History Month, partnered for a United We Feed distribution at the Reserve Campus of River Parish Community College (RPCC). The distribution befitted students who were affected by Hurricane Ida in St. Charles, St. James and St. John the Baptist parishes. Blessed to be a Blessing, St. Charles United Way, St. John United Way and United 1st Steps were also partners for this event.
The first 150 students received a fresh produce box from Top Box Foods Louisiana. The first 200 receive a jambalaya lunch from BASF. All participants received a $75 Walmart gift card and a $5 gift card to McDonald’s. Blessed to be a Blessing also provided personal hygiene kits that included many hygiene items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste.
This event was made possible in part by BASF’s generous $125,000 donation to United Way’s Hurricane Ida Relief Fund to assist victims in its 10-Parish service area.
