Darrius Tramaine Williams, 29, of Reserve was arrested February 22, 2022 in connection to a residential burglary on Tammy Drive in LaPlace.
Williams was being investigated by the SJSO as a suspect in several recent burglaries of residences in St. John Parish.
On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, detectives were conducting surveillance about 2 a.m. at Farm Road and Belle Grove Drive in LaPlace where several residential burglaries were reported recently. Officers observed a suspicious subject, later identified as Williams, walking in the street with a weed removal tool. As officers attempted to make contact with Williams, he dropped the tool and fled on foot. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate Williams at the time.
Based on investigation, officers executed a search warrant at Williams’ residence in the 300 block of Rosenwald Street in Reserve. Detectives located and recovered hundreds of pieces of jewelry, laptop computers, portable generators, as well as vintage baseball cards and several other specialty items believed to be stolen from several residences in St. John Parish. Williams was arrested without incident at his residence. His bond was set at $6,500, and he bonded out February 22, 2022.
This investigation is ongoing.
